Nicky de Battista

Nicky is a civil engineer specialising in instrumentation and condition monitoring of infrastructure. After working for a number of years as a structural designer and site engineer on a variety of projects, he obtained a PhD from the University of Sheffield. His doctoral research work was on the use of wireless technology for structural health monitoring.
Nicky now works as a Research Associate within the Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction (CSIC) at Cambridge University, developing new applications for fibre optic sensing in civil infrastructure. He is also a Director and founding partner of Epsimon, a spinout company which provides specialist instrumentation design and monitoring services for civil infrastructure applications.
